In addition to the regular Stats from the Runes, a Runeword will create a set of Affixes. Runes must be placed in a specific Base Item type with the EXACT amount of Sockets to create a Runeword, including Ethereal and Superior Items. Every end game build in Diablo II: Resurrected uses at least 1 Runeword! In this guide, we not only list every Runeword that is available, we also recommend the best Base Items to put them into. This creates some incredible items, increasing the power of your Character immensely. Runewords go one step further, by adding additional Stats to items, if Runes are socketed inside them in a specific order. 
Runes by themselves already give some amazing Stats on the 4 item slots that can have Sockets (Weapons, Shields, Helmets, and Body Armors).
